Installing the Tanks Upgrade

The upgrade can be applied by placing it in a slot on the right side of the backpack inventory. Put the Tanks Upgrade there to enhance the backpack with 2 fluid tanks. Once installed, the backpack holds two separate fluid tanks you can fill and drain.

Filling and draining with the Hose

Use the Hose together with the Hose Nozzle to move fluids in and out of the backpack tanks. The Hose Nozzle is the attachment that lets the Hose interact with fluid sources and containers. Carry both so you can top up the tanks from a source and empty them where you need the fluid.

Backpack Tank

Backpack Tank is the fluid container item associated with the tank system. Keep spare Backpack Tank items on hand when managing fluids, and use them alongside the Tanks Upgrade and Hose.

Practical fluid workflow

1. Install Tanks Upgrade into the right-side slot of the backpack inventory.

2. Craft or obtain a Hose and Hose Nozzle.

3. Use the Hose with the Hose Nozzle to draw fluid into the backpack tanks.

4. Use the Hose again to place fluid out of the tanks.

5. Combine with Pickup Upgrade if you want ground items stored directly in the backpack while you work.

Tanks Upgrade is separate from the storage grid, so fluid capacity does not consume item slots. The two tanks fill independently, letting you carry two different fluids at once.
