How to Upgrade Your Backpack's Tier

What Tier Upgrades Do

The tier upgrades — §7Iron Tier Upgrade, §6Gold Tier Upgrade, §bDiamond Tier Upgrade, and §8Netherite Tier Upgrade — raise your backpack's storage capacity and overall capability. Each tier is applied through the travelersbackpack:backpack_upgrade recipe type, which is the same recipe family used for themed backpacks and functional upgrades.

Applying a Tier Upgrade

Place your current backpack and the tier upgrade item into the appropriate upgrade recipe. The result is a backpack of the higher tier that retains its stored items and any installed upgrades. Work up the chain: Standard to Iron, Iron to Gold, Gold to Diamond, Diamond to Netherite. You do not need to craft a fresh backpack at each step — the upgrade transforms the one you already have.

Themed Backpacks as an Alternative Path

If you want a themed look instead of a plain tier, the travelersbackpack:backpack_upgrade recipes also convert a backpack into themed variants like Diamond Traveler's Backpack, Netherite Traveler's Backpack, Emerald Traveler's Backpack, or Dragon Traveler's Backpack. These themed backpacks carry their own tier characteristics. Pick the theme that matches the tier you want and the appearance you prefer.
