How to Use the Igniter and Igniter Range Upgrade in Trapcraft
Placing the Igniter
Place an Igniter block where you want fire to appear. The Igniter is the fire source in the trap setup, so position it on the floor tile or wall face that your target will pass. Keep the Igniter tile clear of flammable blocks so the fire does not spread where you do not want it.
Extending the Trigger Zone
By default the Igniter covers a limited area. Craft an Igniter Range Upgrade and apply it to the Igniter to widen the zone the Igniter affects. This lets a single Igniter cover a longer corridor or a wider room instead of forcing you to place multiple Igniters.
Combining with the Trap
Place a Trap block on the path leading into the Igniter zone. The Trap is the trigger; when your target crosses it, the Igniter fires. Put the Igniter a few tiles past the Trap so the target is already inside the zone when the fire starts.
Combining with the Fan
Place a Fan behind the target's approach to push them forward into the Igniter zone. The Fan keeps the target moving, so they cannot back out of the fire area before the Igniter does its work.
Progression Logic
Craft the Igniter and Trap first and confirm the trigger fires. Then craft the Igniter Range Upgrade and apply it to cover the full corridor. Add the Fan last to control the target's movement through the zone.
