Loading Items, Fluids and Energy into Modular Vehicles

Placing the loaders

Craft an Item Loader, Fluid Loader, and Energy Loader from the Rail Worker's Bench. Place each one directly beside the rail where your Modular Minecart or Modular Boat will stop. The loader only transfers while a vehicle is parked in front of it, so align the block with the track or dock.

Feeding each loader

Put items into the Item Loader's inventory; it pushes them into the vehicle's cargo modules. Fill the Fluid Loader with a fluid — Steam from Steam Buckets works — and it moves that fluid into fluid-capable modules. The Energy Loader holds energy and charges energy modules on the vehicle. Each loader handles only its own type, so a full train needs all three if it carries mixed cargo.

Unloading and routing

Loaders also pull cargo out of a vehicle when their own storage has room, so the same block can load or unload depending on what is inside. Use the Module Configurator on the vehicle to add or remove cargo, fluid, and energy modules so the loaders have somewhere to put things. Park the vehicle with a Holding Rail or Timed Holding Rail to keep it stationary long enough for a full transfer, then release it with a Switch Rail or Elevator Switch Rail.
