Reduce Lag from Water Reflections and Wave Animations
Understanding Water Performance Impact
Tower Shaders renders realistic water with wave animations and reflections, which can strain lower-end systems. If you notice frame drops near large bodies of water, the shader's water quality settings are likely the culprit.
Steps to Optimize Water Rendering
1. Open your shader settings menu
2. Navigate to the Water or Reflections section
3. Look for options like "Water Quality," "Wave Height," or "Reflection Detail"
4. Lower these settings incrementally—start by reducing wave animation intensity or disabling reflections entirely
5. Check for a "Water Depth" or "Transparency" setting and reduce if needed
6. Test performance by standing near oceans, rivers, or large lakes
7. Re-enable features one at a time to find your performance sweet spot
Alternative Approach
If water settings alone don't help, reduce overall shader quality through the main quality preset (often labeled "Low," "Medium," "High"). This affects all shader features proportionally. You can then selectively re-enable non-water features you care about.
