Make Torch and Lantern Light More Visible Indoors

Why Torches Seem Dim

Tower Shaders distributes warm light from torches, lanterns, and campfires realistically, but indoor spaces with many blocks can absorb this light, making small light sources feel dim compared to vanilla Minecraft.

Improving Indoor Lighting

1. Open your shader settings

2. Find the Lighting or Block Lights section

3. Look for "Torch Brightness," "Light Radius," or "Block Light Intensity"

4. Increase this value to make torches cast brighter, wider light

5. Test in a dark room with a single torch to see the effect

6. If available, adjust "Light Falloff" to control how quickly light fades with distance

Building Tips

To maximize torch effectiveness indoors:

  • Place torches on walls rather than floors—they cast light more efficiently
  • Use lanterns and campfires in addition to torches for layered lighting
  • Paint walls with lighter-colored blocks to reflect more light
  • Avoid deep recesses where light can't reach
  • Consider spacing torches closer together in large rooms
