Making a Beating Heart and Sweet Heart

Two Distinct Heart Items

Tomes Mod registers two heart items that are easy to confuse: Beating Heart and Sweet Heart. They are separate entries, so one cannot stand in for the other in any crafting_shaped recipe. Check the recipe book for each one individually. The Beating Heart and Sweet Heart may share some ingredients with the Ancient Heart, but their shaped patterns differ. Gather the exact items shown for the heart you want before placing anything in the grid.

Crafting Order Matters

If you plan to craft both, do them one at a time. Complete the Beating Heart recipe first, remove it from the output slot, then clear the grid completely before starting the Sweet Heart. Leftover ingredients in the grid will corrupt the shaped pattern and produce nothing. Neither heart is a substitute for the Ancient Heart when you later craft an Archaic Tome, Cursed Tome, or Living Tome. Store each heart in a labeled chest so you do not accidentally feed a Sweet Heart into a recipe that expects a Beating Heart. If a recipe book entry is missing, you have not yet unlocked or discovered that shaped recipe — gather the raw materials first and the entry should appear.
