How to Craft an Ancient Heart in Tomes Mod

Gather the Ingredients

To make an Ancient Heart, you need the base components that feed into the mod's shaped crafting recipes. Check your recipe book for the exact grid layout, since Tomes Mod uses crafting_shaped recipes. The Ancient Heart is a foundational item, so expect to combine common materials with at least one mod-specific drop or block. If you already have a Sweet Heart or Beating Heart, hold onto them — they are separate items and cannot be substituted for the Ancient Heart in its recipe.

Craft and Use

Place the required items in the crafting grid in the pattern shown by the recipe book. Once crafted, the Ancient Heart becomes your gateway item for higher-tier tomes. Do not consume it on a Living Tome or Cursed Tome until you have confirmed the recipe for that tome, because the Ancient Heart may be a required ingredient in those shaped recipes. Keep at least one Ancient Heart in storage before you start experimenting with Archaic Tome or Debug Tome crafting. If a recipe refuses to complete, verify that every slot matches the shaped pattern exactly — shaped recipes do not accept extra items in the grid.
