Crafting the Archaic Tome Step by Step

Prepare the Core Items

Before you open a crafting table, collect the items that appear in Tomes Mod's shaped recipes. The Archaic Tome is one of the mod's registry items, and its recipe is a crafting_shaped type, meaning the position of each ingredient matters. You will likely need an Ancient Heart as a central component, plus surrounding materials. Do not substitute a Sweet Heart, Beating Heart, or Living Tome for the Ancient Heart — each is a distinct registry item.

Assemble the Tome

Open the recipe book in your crafting table and search for Archaic Tome. The book will highlight the exact shaped layout. Place each ingredient in the matching slot. If the output slot stays empty, remove every item and re-place them one at a time, because a single misplaced stack breaks a shaped recipe. Once the Archaic Tome appears in the output slot, take it and store it somewhere safe. The Archaic Tome is not consumed by crafting other items unless a recipe explicitly lists it, so you can keep it as a standalone tool or trophy. If you later craft a Cursed Tome or Debug Tome, check whether the Archaic Tome is listed as an ingredient before using it up.
