How to Make Tofu from Soybeans

Getting Started

Tofu production begins with soybeans and a Bittern. You need a Bittern source and a way to process the beans. Bittern is available as Bittern, Bittern Bottle, and Bittern Bucket. The Bittern Bucket is the most practical for crafting since buckets hold larger quantities.

Processing Steps

Combine soybeans with a Bittern Bucket in a crafting grid to produce the base tofu. The crafting system supports both crafting_shaped and crafting_shapeless recipes, so the exact arrangement may vary. Once you have the base, you can branch into specific tofu types.

Kinu Tofu is the soft variety. Momen Tofu is firmer. Both have corresponding blocks: Kinu Tofu Block and Momen Tofu Block. Dried Tofu is made by further processing, and it can be used in Dried Tofu Stew or Broth Simmered Dried Tofu.

Fried Tofu is another branch. Fried Pouch Tofu comes from frying, and Fried Pouch Tofu Block stores it in bulk. Grilled Tofu and GrilledTofu Block are made by cooking tofu over heat.

For advanced players, Diamond Tofu and Diamond Tofu Nugget offer higher-tier materials. DiamondTofu Block is a storage block for Diamond Tofu.

Keep a steady supply of Bittern and soybeans. Bittern is consumed in the process, so craft multiple Bittern Bottles or Buckets before starting a large batch.
