How to Make Miso and Miso Tofu
Miso Production
Miso starts with Kouji and Kouji Base. Craft Kouji Base first, then combine it with soybeans to produce Kouji. Kouji is the fermentation starter for miso.
Place Kouji and soybeans into a Barrel Miso. The barrel handles the fermentation process. You do not need to add water separately if the recipe calls for it; the barrel manages the conversion internally.
Miso Tofu
Once you have miso, combine it with tofu in a Barrel Miso Tofu. This produces MisoTofu Block. MisoTofu Block is a storage block and can be broken down into individual miso tofu items if needed.
Miso tofu is used in several dishes. It works as a base for soups and as a topping for rice. The Barrel Miso Tofu is a separate block from the Barrel Miso, so you need both for a full production chain.
Scaling Up
Each Barrel Miso processes one batch at a time. For large-scale production, build multiple barrels in a row. Kouji Base is the bottleneck, so keep a steady supply of Kouji and soybeans.
Miso is also used in non-tofu recipes. Check the crafting_shapeless recipes for dishes that use miso as a seasoning. The Barrel Miso Tofu can be automated with hoppers if you have the resources.
