Placing Poles in a Straight Line

All four poles — Glass Pole, Iron Pole, Redstone Pole, and Wooden Pole — are blocks, so they place like any other block. Aim at the top face of a pole and place the next one directly above it to extend the column upward. Repeat until you reach the height you want. Because every pole occupies a full block space, a column of poles is one block wide and stacks cleanly.

Mixing Pole Types in One Column

You are not limited to a single material. Place a Wooden Pole at the base, then an Iron Pole above it, then a Redstone Pole, then a Glass Pole. The column stays one block wide and each segment keeps its own appearance. This is useful when you want a visual break between sections of a tall build, such as a wooden lower half and a glass upper half.

Practical Uses for Pole Columns

• Use a Wooden Pole column as cheap scaffolding to reach high places.
