How to Write and Run Code on an Execution Module

Prepare the Module

Insert an Execution Module into a Controller or Casing. The Execution Module is where your program lives and runs. Pair it with a RAM Module so the program has memory to work with, and add a Terminal Module if you want to type and read output in place.

Write the Program

Open the Controller interface. Select the Execution Module and enter your code. Keep the program small at first: read a value, move it, write it out. Use the Code Bible or the TIS-3D Reference Manual as your instruction reference while writing. The manual lists the available operations and how registers behave.

Run and Debug

Power the Controller with a redstone signal. The Execution Module begins executing as soon as the system is powered and the program is present. Watch the Terminal Module for output. If the program stalls, verify that the RAM Module is inserted and that the Execution Module is not waiting on a port that has nothing connected.

Connect Modules

Programs communicate through ports. Insert a Stack Module, Queue Module, or Serial Port Module next to the Execution Module and address it from your code. Data written to one module can be read by another, letting you split work across multiple Execution Modules.
