Emerald Tool Set

Emerald gear is a solid mid-game upgrade. Craft Emerald Pickaxe, Emerald Axe, Emerald Shovel, Emerald Hoe, and Emerald Sword as your core set. For combat variety, also craft Emerald BattleAxe, Emerald Spear, and Emerald Scythe. Emerald Shears handle wool and leaf collection, and Emerald Paxel combines pickaxe, axe, and shovel functions in one tool, saving inventory space on long trips.

Diamond Tool Set

Diamond gear mirrors the emerald line. Craft Diamond Netherrack Pickaxe, Diamond Netherrack Axe, Diamond Netherrack Shovel, Diamond Netherrack Hoe, and Diamond Netherrack Sword for a full set. Diamond Sugar Cane Pickaxe, Diamond Sugar Cane Axe, Diamond Sugar Cane Shovel, Diamond Sugar Cane Hoe, and Diamond Sugar Cane Sword form a parallel set. Diamond BattleAxe, Diamond Spear, Diamond Scythe, Diamond Shears, and Diamond Paxel fill the same specialty roles as their emerald counterparts.

Picking Your Path

If emeralds are easier to farm in your world, build the emerald line first and use it to gather diamonds. If you already have diamonds, skip straight to the diamond tools. Either way, craft the Paxel last so you can consolidate your tool slots once you have the materials to spare. Keep a spare Pickaxe in a chest near your mining base.
