Smelting and Blasting Raw Ores into Ingots

Which Raw Items You Can Process

Only three raw materials exist in this mod: Raw Barium, Raw Thallium, and Raw Yttrium. Each one has both a smelting recipe and a blasting recipe, so you can use a regular furnace or a blast furnace.

Furnace vs Blast Furnace

• Furnace (smelting): slower, but available from the start.
• Blast Furnace (blasting): roughly twice as fast, ideal once you have iron to spare.

Both produce the same output ingot. Use the blast furnace for bulk processing and the regular furnace for small batches while you are still setting up.

The Conversion Chain

1. Mine ore and collect Raw Barium, Raw Thallium, or Raw Yttrium.

2. Smelt or blast the raw item to get Barium Ingot, Thallium Ingot, or Yttrium Ingot.

3. Optionally compress nine ingots into a Block (Barium Block, Thallium Block, Yttrium Block) for storage.

4. Optionally split one ingot into nine Nuggets (Barium Nugget, Thallium Nugget, Yttrium Nugget).

Storing Raw Ore

If you are not ready to smelt, pack Raw Barium, Raw Thallium, and Raw Yttrium into Block of Raw Barium, Block of Raw Thallium, and Block of Raw Yttrium. These blocks are compact and can be broken back down into the raw items later. This is the best way to haul a large mining trip home without filling every slot.
