How to Get Started with Tinkers' Reforged Materials

Find Your First Raw Ore

Raw Barium, Raw Thallium, and Raw Yttrium are the three raw materials you can pull from the ground. Mine the ore blocks and you will receive the raw item directly. Each raw item can be stored as a Block of Raw Barium, Block of Raw Thallium, or Block of Raw Yttrium for compact storage.

Turn Raw Ore into Metal

Smelt or blast each raw item to get its ingot:

• Raw Barium → Barium Ingot
• Raw Thallium → Thallium Ingot
• Raw Yttrium → Yttrium Ingot

Blasting is faster than smelting, so use a blast furnace when you have one. Once you have ingots, you can craft them into Blocks (Barium Block, Thallium Block, Yttrium Block) or break them down into Nuggets (Barium Nugget, Thallium Nugget, Yttrium Nugget).

The Reforging Guide is the in-game reference item for this mod. Craft or obtain it and keep it in your inventory while you work through the material chain. It tells you what each metal and gear is used for so you do not have to guess recipes.

Stockpile Before You Branch Out

Actinium, Astatine, Berkelium, Germanium, Tellurium, Graphite, and Slimebronze do not come from raw ore. You will need to progress through the basic three metals first, then use the Reforging Guide to see how the advanced materials are produced. Keep at least a stack of each basic ingot on hand before you start.
