Shields Now Receive Armor Bonuses

This data pack treats shields identically to armor pieces for stat purposes. Your shield will gain the same defensive bonuses and scaling as your chestplate, helmet, and other armor.

Using Shields Effectively

1. Equip your shield in your offhand slot as normal.

2. Upgrade your shield using the same materials and methods as your other armor pieces. It will now receive stat bonuses from the rebalanced progression system.

3. Stack defensive stats by upgrading both your armor and shield together. Since shields now scale like armor, a fully upgraded set including your shield provides significantly better protection.

4. Repair your shield using standard armor repair materials. The data pack ensures shields have proper repair recipes, so you won't get stuck with a broken shield.

This change makes shields a genuine part of your defensive loadout rather than a utility item. Invest in your shield upgrades alongside your armor for the best protection.
