How to Use Pinecones and Fallen Sticks

Collecting Sticks by Tree Type

Each tree type drops its own stick. You will find Oak Stick near oak trees, Spruce Stick near spruce, Birch Stick near birch, Jungle Stick near jungle, Acacia Stick near acacia, Dark Oak Stick near dark oak, Mangrove Stick near mangrove, Cherry Stick near cherry, and Pale Oak Stick near pale oak. Bamboo Stick appears around bamboo, while Crimson Stick and Warped Stick appear in their matching Nether forests.

Walk the forest floor under the canopy. Sticks lie on the ground and are picked up by walking over them or breaking them.

Pinecones

Pinecone is a standalone find in forested terrain. Treat it like the sticks: scan the ground beneath conifer-style tree cover and pick it up on contact. It is a placed block once collected, so it works as decoration or as a stored material.

Practical Tips

Match the stick to the wood you are already gathering. If you are chopping oak, sweep the ground for Oak Stick at the same time instead of making a separate trip. In the Nether, combine a Crimson Stick or Warped Stick run with a search for Netherrack Rock, Netherrack Fragment, Soul Soil Rock, and Soul Soil Fragment so one trip covers several materials. Empty a few inventory slots before you start, since sticks accumulate quickly across a large forest.
