How to Find Geysers and Nether Geysers

Locating a Geyser

Geyser is a block that generates in overworld terrain. Search stone-heavy areas and cave openings where ground clutter like Stone Rock, Andesite Rock, Diorite Rock, and Granite Rock is dense. Geysers sit among this clutter rather than in open flat ground, so follow rocky patches instead of grass fields.

Nether Geyser generates in the Nether. Look in regions where Netherrack Rock, Netherrack Fragment, Soul Soil Rock, and Soul Soil Fragment are present. The same rule applies: dense clutter means you are in the right layer, and the geyser is nearby.

Working With Geysers

Both blocks are placed and broken like normal blocks. Carry them home and set them where you want a landmark or a hazard. Because they are full blocks, they can be placed on any solid surface and will not fall.

If you are hunting one specific geyser, clear the clutter around you as you go. Breaking Stone Rock and Netherrack Rock as you travel keeps your view open and often reveals the geyser sitting directly behind them. Bring a pickaxe suited to the dimension you are searching in, and empty inventory space so you can carry the geyser block back intact.
