How to Find and Process Gleaming Ore in the Things Mod

Locating Gleaming Ore

Gleaming Ore generates in the overworld, and its deepslate variant, Deepslate Gleaming Ore, appears at lower depths. Mine either block with any pickaxe to obtain Gleaming Powder. Bring a Mining Glove if you want the ore to drop more reliably while mining, and keep an Item Magnet in your inventory so dropped powder is pulled toward you instead of scattering.

Turning Powder into Useful Materials

Combine Gleaming Powder in a crafting grid to produce Gleaming Compound. Gleaming Compound is the base material for several Things recipes, so process your powder in batches rather than one at a time. If you need light sources underground, craft Stone Glowstone Fixture, Quartz Glowstone Fixture, or Deepslate Glowstone Fixture — each is a decorative light block that matches the stone type around it. For ore-to-block storage, Gleaming Ore and Deepslate Gleaming Ore can be placed back down as blocks once you have enough.

What to Do With the Output

Use Gleaming Compound when crafting progression items such as the Agglomeration line. Empty Agglomeration is the starting point, and Agglomeration is the upgraded result. Hardening Catalyst and Enchanted Wax Gland are also crafted from processed materials, so stockpile compound before you start. If you are unsure which recipe uses which ingredient, craft the Things Almanac first — it lists the mod's items and their recipes in one place.
