How to Craft and Use Crossover Rails

What Crossover Rail Does

Crossover Rail is a junction block. Place it where two rail lines meet so a cart can be routed from one line onto the other. The mod provides three crossover blocks: Crossover Rail, Prismarine Crossover Rail, and Lumium Crossover Rail. Use the plain Crossover Rail for general builds, and the Prismarine or Lumium versions when you want the junction to match a themed line.

Building a Junction

Run your incoming track up to the crossover block, then continue both outgoing lines away from it. Place powered rail on each branch so carts keep speed through the switch: Prismarine Powered Rail with Prismarine Crossover Rail, Lumium Powered Rail with Lumium Crossover Rail, or vanilla powered rail with plain Crossover Rail. Power the powered rails with Redstone from a lever, button, or Redstone block.

Confirming Cart Position

Put a detector rail just past the crossover on each branch — Prismarine Detector Rail or Lumium Detector Rail — so you get a Redstone signal when a cart clears the junction. Wire that signal to a lamp or door to see at a glance which line the cart took.

Mixing Families

You can combine a plain Crossover Rail with Prismarine or Lumium rails on the branches. Match the crossover material to the busier line so the junction reads clearly, and keep a stack of the matching ingots on hand for repairs.
