Carving an Ossuary with the Ossuary Block

What the Ossuary is for

The Ossuary is the mod's dedicated bone-storage block. It is produced through the graveyard:ossuary_carving recipe type rather than a normal crafting table recipe. That means you carve it rather than assemble it from a grid.

Carving steps

Place the base block you intend to carve and use the carving interaction tied to the ossuary_carving recipe. The result is an Ossuary block. Because carving recipes are their own type, you cannot substitute a crafting table — you must perform the carve action on the correct input block.

Build a bone room

Once you have Ossuary blocks, use them as wall segments or stacked columns in a crypt. Combine them with Skull Pile, Skull and Rib Cage, Skull on Pike, and Torso Pile to fill niches. Add Skeleton Hand and Wither Skeleton Hand on ledges. For a wither-themed ossuary, swap in Wither Skull Pile, Wither Skull and Rib Cage, Wither Skull on Pike, and Wither Torso Pile.

Light and contain it

Ossuaries read best in low light. Use Soul Fire Brazier for a cold blue glow or Fire Brazier for warm light. Frame the room with Dark Iron Block walls and a Dark Iron Door, and use Dark Iron Bars or Dark Iron Trapdoor for gated niches. Line the floor with coffins such as Oak Coffin or Deepslate-adjacent builds to complete the chamber.
