Optimize Shader Performance on Low-End Hardware
Start with Potato Profile
Select the Potato performance profile as your baseline. This strips away the most demanding visual effects while maintaining the core cursed aesthetic.
Reduce Additional Settings
Within Shader Options, lower effect intensity and color saturation sliders to their minimum. Disable any optional visual enhancements if available. These changes significantly reduce GPU load.
Lower Game Settings
Beyond the shader itself, reduce:
- Render distance to 8–12 chunks
- Graphics setting to Fast
- Particles to Minimal
- Disable smooth lighting if necessary
Monitor Performance
Load a world and check your frame rate using F3 (Debug Screen). If frames remain low, reduce render distance further or close background applications consuming system resources.
Gradual Upgrades
Once stable, incrementally increase one setting at a time—first render distance, then shader intensity—to find the maximum quality your hardware supports without stuttering. This approach prevents frustration from guessing optimal configurations.
