Gem Socketing: Aspect Gems, Gem Tinkerer and Stabilized Focus

Cut and Socket Gems

Gems in this mod are handled by two blocks: the Gem Tinkerer and the Gem Socket. The Gem Tinkerer performs gem tinkering recipes — this is where you cut and modify gems. The Gem Socket is where you install a finished gem into a piece of gear.

Start with an Aspect Gem. Run it through the Gem Tinkerer to produce the cut gem you want. Then place the target item and the gem at the Gem Socket to install it.

Upgrade Your Casting Tools

Socketing matters most for your casting tools. The progression runs Conjuring Focus → Stabilized Conjuring Focus → Conjuring Scepter → Superior Conjuring Scepter. A Stabilized Conjuring Focus is the improved form of the base Focus; the Superior Conjuring Scepter is the top of the Scepter line.

Build each tier before socketing gems into it, so you are not wasting gems on a tool you are about to replace. Once you have the Superior Conjuring Scepter, socket your best Aspect Gem into it — that is the tool you will keep.

Keep the Gem Tinkerer and Gem Socket side by side. Tinkering and socketing are separate steps, and you will bounce between them every time you upgrade a tool.
