Switch Between Shader Presets and Quality Levels
Understanding Preset Tiers
The Beat of a Heart Shaders includes several built-in presets that bundle related settings together. These range from Potato Mode (minimal effects) through Low, Medium, and High, up to Path Tracing (maximum visual fidelity and performance cost).
Accessing Presets
Open your shader settings menu. Look for a Presets dropdown or button, usually near the top of the options panel. Click to see the available presets.
Selecting a Preset
Choose a preset that matches your hardware:
- Potato Mode: Older computers, integrated graphics
- Low/Medium: Mid-range systems
- High: Strong gaming PCs
- Path Tracing: High-end systems for cinematic visuals
The preset will automatically apply all related settings at once.
Fine-Tuning After Selection
After applying a preset, you can still manually adjust individual settings if desired. For example, you might use the Medium preset but disable reflections to improve frame rate, or enable path tracing selectively.
Testing Performance
After switching presets, spend a few minutes exploring different biomes and times of day to ensure performance meets your expectations before making further changes.
