Enable and Configure Water Reflections
Locating Water Settings
Open the shader options menu and find the Water or Reflections section. This controls how water surfaces render and interact with light.
Turning On Reflections
Look for an option like Water Reflections, Surface Reflections, or Reflection Quality. Enable this feature to make water surfaces mirror the sky, terrain, and objects above them.
Adjusting Reflection Intensity
Once enabled, you'll likely find a Reflection Strength or Reflection Clarity slider. This controls how mirror-like the water appears:
- Higher values create more obvious, detailed reflections
- Lower values make reflections subtle and less performance-intensive
Water Color and Transparency
Adjust Water Transparency or Water Color Tint to control how clearly you see through water to the blocks below. Fantasy-themed setups often use more saturated or tinted water colors.
Performance Considerations
Reflections are computationally expensive. If enabling them causes frame rate drops, reduce Reflection Quality or Reflection Distance to limit how far reflections render. Test near large bodies of water to see the impact on performance before committing to a setting.
