Adjust Lighting and Shadow Direction
Finding Light Direction Controls
Open your shader settings menu and locate the Lighting or Sun/Shadow section. This area controls how sunlight interacts with your world.
Modifying Shadow Appearance
Look for options labeled Shadow Distance, Shadow Softness, or Shadow Intensity. These settings let you:
- Increase shadow softness for a more diffused, fantasy-like appearance
- Adjust shadow distance to control how far shadows render from the player
- Change shadow intensity to make shadows darker or lighter
Adjusting Sunlight Color
Find Sun Color or Sunlight Tint settings to shift the overall warmth or coolness of daylight. Warmer tints create golden, fantasy-like afternoons, while cooler tints produce bluer, more dramatic lighting.
Time-of-Day Effects
Some settings automatically adjust lighting based on in-game time. Check for Dynamic Lighting or Time-Based Adjustments to enable realistic sunrise and sunset color shifts.
Previewing Changes
Adjust one setting at a time and observe the world in different locations—open plains, forests, and caves all respond differently to lighting changes. This helps you find the balance that suits your preferred aesthetic.
