Using Barrels, Chests, and Trapped Chests for Storage

Storage Blocks Per Wood Type

Every wood family provides three storage blocks: Barrel, Chest, and Trapped Chest. Apple gives Apple Barrel, Apple Chest, and Apple Trapped Chest. Banana gives Banana Barrel, Banana Chest, and Banana Trapped Chest. Cherry gives Cherry Barrel, Cherry Chest, and Cherry Trapped Chest. Coconut gives Coconut Barrel, Coconut Chest, and Coconut Trapped Chest.

Choosing Between Them

Use Barrels for bulk raw materials like planks, logs, and Dense Cloud. Use Chests for finished goods and tools. Use Trapped Chests where you want a storage block that behaves differently from a plain chest — place them in areas you want to monitor or separate from your main storage line.

Crafting Them

All three are crafted from the matching planks at a CraftBench or CraftFurnace. Convert a batch of planks into one Barrel, one Chest, and one Trapped Chest per wood type so you have a matched set ready.

Organizing a Storage Room

Assign one wood type per storage column. Stack Barrel, Chest, and Trapped Chest vertically in that column so the family stays together. Label by wood type rather than by contents — Apple column, Banana column, Cherry column, Coconut column. This makes it obvious where any given material belongs and keeps your CraftBench area clear.
