Stay Warm in Snow Biomes Without Freezing
Choose the Right Armor
Leather armor is your best friend in cold biomes. Unlike metal armors (iron, diamond, netherite), leather provides genuine warmth and won't let the cold in. Wear a full set or at least leather boots and a chestplate when traveling to snowy taigas or ice plains.
Create a Warm Shelter
Build your base with heat sources nearby:
1. Place a campfire or furnace inside your shelter
2. Stand within range of the heat source to warm up
3. Keep the fire burning with fuel (wood, coal, etc.)
If you're caught outside and your temperature drops dangerously low, sprint toward the nearest heat source or return to your base immediately.
Time Management
Nighttime makes all biomes colder, even temperate ones. If you must travel at night, stay near your heat sources or move quickly to your destination.
Monitor Your Status
Watch the boss bar at the top of your screen. If it turns blue and you hear a freezing sound, your temperature is critically low. Use /temp check to see your exact heat level if needed.
