Check and Manage Your Temperature During Gameplay

Read the Boss Bar

The colored bar at the top of your screen shows your current body heat status:

  • Blue = Too cold, taking damage
  • Green/Yellow = Safe temperature range
  • Red/Orange = Too hot, taking damage

The bar changes color as your temperature shifts, giving you real-time feedback.

Use Temperature Commands

Check your exact temperature value anytime:

  • /temp check shows your current heat level
  • /temp check [player name] checks another player's temperature
  • /temp toggle hides or shows the boss bar if you prefer not to see it

Understand What Affects Your Heat

Your temperature changes based on:

1. Biome type (deserts are hot, snowy taigas are cold)

2. Time of day (nighttime is colder everywhere)

3. Weather (rain cools you down)

4. Armor worn (leather warms, metal conducts cold)

5. Nearby blocks (campfires and furnaces warm; ice and snow cool)

React Quickly

If you hear panting or freezing sounds, your temperature is critical. Move toward appropriate heat sources or shelter immediately to prevent further damage.
