Build a Base That Maintains Safe Temperature Year-Round
Choose Your Location Wisely
Select a biome that doesn't push temperature extremes. Temperate biomes (forests, plains, jungles) are easier to manage than deserts or snowy taigas. Avoid building on ice or in extreme heat zones if you want minimal temperature management.
Install Heat Sources
Place campfires or furnaces throughout your base:
1. Position them in main rooms and sleeping areas
2. Keep them fueled with renewable resources (wood, coal)
3. Ensure they're close enough that you stay warm when standing nearby
Plan for Night and Weather
Nighttime and rain both cool you down significantly. Build an enclosed shelter with a roof to protect from rain and retain heat from your campfires. Create multiple rooms so you can always find a warm spot.
Consider Biome Proximity
If your base is near a cold biome, position heat sources on that side. If near a desert, build with shade in mind—use overhangs and interior spaces to stay cool. You can also use ice blocks strategically in hot areas for emergency cooling.
