Maintain Vanilla Aesthetics While Using Shaders

Understand TB Shaders' Design Philosophy

TB Shaders is built to enhance vanilla Minecraft without drastically altering its blocky, familiar appearance. The shader adds lighting and shadows rather than replacing textures or changing block shapes.

Disable Extreme Visual Effects

If the shader includes optional effects like bloom, lens flare, or color grading, disable these in the settings menu. Keeping only colored lighting and shadows preserves the classic look while improving depth perception.

Use Conservative Lighting Settings

Keep light color saturation moderate rather than maxed out. Overly vibrant colored light can feel artificial. A balanced approach makes torches and glowstone feel like natural light sources rather than neon signs.

Adjust Shadow Softness

Soft shadows blend more naturally into the environment and feel less artificial than sharp, high-contrast shadows. If your shader offers shadow softness or blur controls, increase these slightly for a more vanilla-friendly appearance.

Compare Before and After

Toggle the shader on and off (if your mod loader supports this) to compare. TB Shaders should feel like a subtle enhancement—better lighting and clearer visibility—not a complete visual overhaul. If it feels too different, dial back intensity settings.
