How to Grow a Baobab Tree

Getting Started

Place a Baobab block on grass or dirt in an open area. Clear at least a 5x5 column of air above it, since the trunk and canopy need vertical room to expand. Baobabs grow tall and wide, so avoid planting near structures you want to keep.

Growing and Harvesting

Once placed, the Baobab block develops into the full tree over time. You do not need bone meal unless you want to speed it up. When the tree matures, the trunk becomes a climbable landmark and the canopy spreads outward. Break the trunk blocks to collect wood, and check the canopy for any drops.

If the tree does not grow, verify that nothing is blocking the space directly above the sapling. Remove leaves, fences, or partial blocks that intersect the growth column. Baobabs planted in tight caves or under overhangs will stall.

To relocate a Baobab, break the block and place it again in a clear spot. Keep a few spare Baobab blocks in your inventory if you plan to build a grove. Space them at least six blocks apart so the canopies do not merge and block your movement between trunks.
