How to Build a Sky Island with Chain

Anchoring the Chain

Place a Sky Island (Chain) block at the point where you want the island to hang. The chain acts as the tether between the ground and the floating landmass. Build upward first, then attach the chain at the top of your column.

Expanding the Island

Once the Sky Island (Chain) is set, build the island platform around the top of the chain. Use any solid blocks for the surface, then decorate with grass, dirt, or stone. The chain holds the island in place visually and structurally, so keep it connected to the ground below.

Practical Tips

Leave the chain column clear of obstructions so you can climb it or run a ladder alongside. If you want multiple islands, place a separate Sky Island (Chain) for each one and run independent chains to the ground. Do not break the chain block unless you intend to remove the island, since the tether is what defines the structure.

For a connected sky village, space islands two to three blocks apart and bridge them with planks. Keep the chains vertical and parallel so the silhouette reads cleanly from below. Test your access route before building high, so you are not stranded after the platform is finished.
