Reaching Tank 7: Planning the Full Upgrade Chain

The Chain at a Glance

The full progression is Tank 1 → Tank 2 → Tank 3 → Tank 4 → Tank 5 → Tank 6 → Tank 7. Tank 1 is crafted with a crafting_shaped recipe; the remaining six steps each use a tanknull:upgrade recipe. Six upgrade recipes, six steps — the counts line up exactly, so there are no skipped tiers.

Stocking Up Before You Start

Each upgrade has its own ingredient cost. Before you begin the chain, decide how far you intend to go and gather enough for every step in between. Running out mid-chain leaves you holding a mid-tier Tank and a Dock that cannot advance until you resupply.

Work through the tiers in order. Apply the Tank 1 → Tank 2 upgrade, then Tank 2 → Tank 3, and continue without gaps. Do not attempt to jump from a low Tank straight to Tank 7; the upgrade recipes are sequential.

When you finish, install Tank 7 in your Dock. That Dock now serves as your top-tier storage point, and the Dock block itself never needs replacing — only the Tank inside it changes.
