Using the Comal and Brick Furnace to Cook Tacos

The Comal and Brick Furnace are your two cooking blocks in TacoCraft. They handle different steps, so set them up side by side.

Brick Furnace

Craft a Brick Furnace and place it like a normal furnace. Use it for smelting recipes — the mod includes smelting as a processing type. Smelting is how you turn raw components into cooked ones, such as Cooked Penca from Penca. Fuel it the same way you fuel any furnace.

Comal

Place a Comal near your Brick Furnace. The Comal is the surface for preparing taco fillings and shells. Keep Tortillas, Corn Kernels, and Penca within reach so you can move between the Comal and the Brick Furnace without walking back to storage.

Cooking Order

1. Harvest Corn and Penca.

2. Smelt Penca in the Brick Furnace to get Cooked Penca.

3. Use the Comal to prepare the tortilla-based components.

4. Assemble the final taco at your crafting grid.

Why It Matters

Many taco recipes — Al Pastor Taco, Barbacoa Taco, Carnitas Taco, Chicken Taco, Fish Taco, Lamb Taco, Steak Taco — depend on cooked inputs. If you skip the Brick Furnace step, you will be stuck with raw Penca and no Cooked Penca to finish the recipe.
