Growing and Processing Penca and Corn

Penca and Corn are the two crops feeding the TacoCraft food chain. Handle both before you touch the Comal.

Corn

Break Corn to obtain Corn Kernels. Corn Kernels craft into Tortilla Dough, which becomes Tortillas. Corn also has a Corn Block form — a compact storage block for Corn. Use Corn Block to store large harvests instead of filling chests with loose Corn.

Penca

Penca grows into two states: Open Penca and Closed Penca. Harvest Penca and smelt it in the Brick Furnace to get Cooked Penca. Cooked Penca is a filling component for tacos. Keep Open Penca and Closed Penca separated in storage so you know what still needs smelting.

Corn Brick

Corn Brick is a building block made from Corn material. Use it to build farm structures, walls, or flooring around your cooking area. It is decorative and structural, not edible.

Farm Layout

1. Plant Corn and Penca in adjacent plots.

2. Harvest Corn into Corn Kernels and Corn Block.

3. Harvest Penca and smelt it into Cooked Penca.

4. Feed Corn Kernels into Tortilla Dough and Tortillas.

5. Move Tortillas, Cooked Penca, and Empty Crunchy Shell to your Comal and crafting area.

Result

With Corn and Penca running, you can produce every taco in the mod without leaving your base.
