Shape the clay

Plates begin as Unfired Plate Clay. Work the clay into an Unfired Plate, then fire it. The smelting step turns the unfired plate into a finished Plate. Keep a furnace or similar heat source ready before you start shaping, since the unfired form is not usable on a table until it has been fired.

Upgrade to glass plates

A plain Plate can be combined into Plate with Glass, which is the version used for the table setting. Place a Plate or Plate with Glass on a Table to create a Table Plate or Table Plate with Glass. These table-mounted versions are what actually sit on the furniture. If you want a drink setting, Water filled Glass and Empty Glass are separate glass items you can place alongside the plate. Produce plates in batches: shape several Unfired Plate Clay items, fire them together, then convert the ones you want into Plate with Glass before placing them on the Table.
