How to Make Nori Sheets and Use the Roller
Getting Nori Sheets
Nori Sheets are the wrapper for maki, temaki, and gunkan. You need them before you can roll anything with the Roller. Gather the ingredients your target roll requires, then combine them so the Nori Sheets are part of the recipe. Keep a stock of Nori Sheets separate from your fillings so you do not burn through them on failed attempts.
Using the Roller
The Roller is the block that turns fillings plus Cooked Rice plus Nori Sheets into finished rolls. Place the Roller, then feed it the components for the roll you want. Maki rolls such as Salmon Maki, Tuna Maki, Crab Maki, Cucumber Maki, and Avocado Maki use Cooked Rice and Nori Sheets with their named filling. Temaki such as Salmon Temaki, Tuna Temaki, Chicken Temaki, and Shrimp Temaki also rely on Nori Sheets and Cooked Rice.
Gunkan and California Rolls
Gunkan varieties — Salmon Gunkan, Tuna Gunkan, and Wakame Gunkan — use Nori Sheets wrapped around Cooked Rice with the topping. California rolls such as Salmon California, Tuna California, Crab California, and their Cheese and Cucumber variants combine Cooked Rice, Nori Sheets, and the named protein or vegetable. Prepare Nori Sheets in bulk before a rolling session.
