Setting Up a Base with Salt Box and Temperature Regulator

Placing the Core Blocks

The Temperature Regulator is a placeable block that stabilizes temperature in its area. Place one in the center of your main room so crafting, storage, and sleeping areas all stay in the safe range. The Salt Box is the other placeable block — set it near your kitchen or food storage area. Both are registered as blocks, so they occupy a block space and can be broken and moved like any other block.

Stocking the Base

Keep a Thermometer in a chest by the door so you can check your temperature before heading out. Store a Purified Water Bucket at your crafting station for recipes that require purified water. Keep Charcoal Filter stock near your Canteen and Netherite Canteen so refills are quick. A Soap Bottle and a stack of Washcloth (any color — White Washcloth, Red Washcloth, Blue Washcloth, and the rest all work the same) belong near your bed. Craft a Bath Sponge for larger cleaning.

Temperature Zones

Place Small Heating Plate, Medium Heating Plate, and Large Heating Plate in cold rooms, and the matching Small Cooling Plate, Medium Cooling Plate, and Large Cooling Plate in hot rooms. Store Ice Cube and Magma Paste in a chest by the Regulator for quick swaps. Keep Wool Hat, Wool Jacket, Wool Pants, Wool Boots, and the Stiffened Honey armor set on armor stands so you can gear up for the biome you are entering.
