How to Load and Fire a Cannon

Placing and Aiming

Place a Cannon on solid ground. Craft Cannonballs and keep them in your inventory or a nearby container. Right-click the Cannon with a Cannonball to load it. Each successful load adds a charge to the block. The Cannon accepts multiple charges, so you can stack several Cannonballs before firing.

Aim by adjusting the Cannon's facing. Use a Crank to rotate the Cannon toward your target. The Crank is the tool for changing elevation and direction without breaking and replacing the block.

Firing

Once loaded, ignite the Cannon to fire. The shot launches along the barrel's current facing. Loaded charges fire in sequence, so a fully charged Cannon produces repeated shots.

Cannon Boats

Combine a Boat with a Cannon to make a Boat with Cannon. Oak gives Cannon Boat Oak, and Bamboo gives Bamboo Raft with Cannon. These let you carry and fire a Cannon from water. Load the mounted Cannon with Cannonballs the same way, then ignite to fire while aboard.

Tips

• Keep Cannonballs stocked; each shot consumes one charge.
• Use the Crank to fine-tune aim before igniting.
• A Cannon Boat moves your firing platform across water, useful for attacking from a distance.
