Smelting for Ash

Ash is produced by smelting. Put the appropriate source block or item into a furnace and collect Ash from the output slot. Once you have your first Ash, it becomes the base material for the entire Ash building set.

Turning Ash into Building Blocks

Ash is the raw ingredient for Ash Bricks. Craft Ash Bricks from Ash, then use those bricks to make the full family of blocks:

• Ash Brick Slab
• Ash Brick Stairs
• Ash Brick Wall

These can also be produced through stonecutting, which gives you more efficient yields per Ash Brick. If you have a stonecutter, run Ash Bricks through it to get slabs, stairs, and walls without wasting material on a crafting grid.

Ash Bricks are a decorative, fire-themed building set. Because Ash comes from smelting, you need a furnace and fuel before you can start. Stockpile Ash early if you plan to build large structures, since every slab, stair, and wall consumes Ash Bricks. Combine Ash Bricks with other dark stone sets like Blackstone Tiles for contrasting builds. Ash also pairs visually with the Fire Pit and lamps for a scorched aesthetic.
