Craft and prepare the disk

Craft a Factory Manager Program Disk. This item stores the program that a Factory Manager or Tunnelled Factory Manager runs.

Write your program onto the disk. The program defines what the network does: which inventories it pulls from, which it pushes to, and the conditions for each action. Keep the program focused on the inventories you actually connected with cable.

Load and run the program

Insert the Factory Manager Program Disk into the Factory Manager. The manager reads the disk and executes the program against every inventory reachable through Inventory Cable, Fancy Inventory Cable, or Tough Inventory Cable.

If the program does nothing, check two things. First, confirm the disk is in the manager. Second, confirm every target inventory is connected by an unbroken cable run. Use the Network Tool to inspect the network and find gaps.

You can move the disk between managers. Pull it from one Factory Manager and insert it into another to run the same program there, as long as that manager's cables reach the inventories the program expects.

For tunnelled builds, the same disk works in a Tunnelled Factory Manager. The disk is the portable part of the setup; the cables and manager are the fixed part.
