How to Set Up a Factory Manager Network

Place the core blocks

Place a Factory Manager block first. This is the controller for the whole network. Connect it to inventories using Inventory Cable, Fancy Inventory Cable, or Tough Inventory Cable. Cables carry items between the Factory Manager and the blocks it touches.

Use Inventory Cable for standard connections. Use Fancy Inventory Cable when you want a cable that also displays or routes more visibly in your build. Use Tough Inventory Cable where you need a more durable cable run.

Program the manager

Craft a Factory Manager Program Disk and use it with the Factory Manager. The disk holds the program that tells the network what to move, where to move it, and in what order. Write your program on the disk, then insert it into the Factory Manager so the network executes it.

A Network Tool lets you inspect and manage the network. Use it to check which inventories are connected and to troubleshoot cable runs that are not reaching the Factory Manager.

If you need a larger or differently shaped setup, use a Tunnelled Factory Manager in place of the standard Factory Manager. It serves the same controlling role while fitting tunnelled builds.

Keep every cable run continuous from the Factory Manager to each inventory. A single gap stops that inventory from being part of the network.
