How to Grow and Use the Beanstalk

Planting

The Beanstalk and Beanstalk Stem are the two blocks of the beanstalk structure. Place a Beanstalk block to start the growth and stack Beanstalk Stem blocks above it to extend the stalk upward. Build the stalk as tall as you need to reach the height you are climbing toward.

Climbing

A finished Beanstalk gives you a vertical route without ladders or scaffolding. Build the stem in a straight column so you can climb it cleanly, and cap the top with a platform of any solid block — Hardstone, Amanita Planks, or Cloud Slab all work — so you have somewhere to stand when you arrive.

Combining With Other Travel

Beanstalks pair well with Warp Pipes. Put a Warp Pipe at the base and another at the top of the stalk so you can skip the climb entirely once the route is set up, or use the stalk as the visible landmark that marks where your pipe link lands. Keep the stalk clear of leaves and other blocks so it stays climbable along its whole length.
