What Cloud Blocks Are For

Cloud Slab and Cloud Stairs are the two cloud-shaped building blocks in the registry. They are used for floating platforms, sky bridges, and decorative ceilings where you want a light, airy look instead of heavy stone.

Building a Sky Platform

Lay a floor of Cloud Slab, then edge it with Cloud Stairs so the platform has a finished border you can walk up onto. Because slabs are half-height, a slab floor lets you place a full block beside it and step up smoothly. Build the platform at the height you want first, then add railings or walls from Hardstone Wall or Crystal Brick Wall if you need to keep from falling off.

Connecting to Other Structures

Cloud Slab and Cloud Stairs combine well with Crystal Bricks, Crystal Brick Slab, Crystal Brick Stairs, and Crystal Brick Wall for a bright, uniform palette. Use Cloud Stairs as the transition step between a ground-level build and an elevated one, and Cloud Slab for the wide flat areas in between. Check your crafting menu with the cloud blocks selected to see the exact conversion between slab, stairs, and full blocks.
