How to Find and Process Jade Ore

Mining Jade

Jade Ore and Deepslate Jade Ore drop Rough Jade when mined. Use a pickaxe and collect every block you find, because Rough Jade is the base material for the entire jade building set and for Jade Totems.

Polishing Rough Jade

Rough Jade can be processed at a grindstone using the grindstone polishing recipe type. Polishing converts Rough Jade into Polished Jade. You can also stonecut Rough Jade directly into several decorative forms without polishing first:

• Rough Jade Bricks
• Rough Jade Tiles
• Rough Jade Brick Slab and Rough Jade Brick Stairs
• Rough Jade Tile Slab and Rough Jade Tile Stairs

Smelting Rough Jade produces Smoothed Rough Jade, which has its own slab and stair variants.

From Polished Jade to Finished Blocks

Once you have Polished Jade, stonecutting gives you the full polished family: Polished Jade Bricks, Polished Small Jade Bricks, Polished Jade Tiles, Polished Jade Shingles, Polished Jade Pillar, and Polished Chiseled Jade. Each of the brick, small brick, tile, and shingle variants also has a slab and stair form. You can also craft a Block of Rough Jade from Rough Jade and a Block of Polished Jade from Polished Jade for storage or large builds. Plan your stonecutter around the shape you want before cutting, since each cut consumes one input block.
