Catching Lanternfish

Lanternfish spawn from the Lanternfish Spawn Egg. Catch them with a Bucket to get a Bucket of Lanternfish. You can also obtain Raw Lanternfish and Raw Lanternfish Slice directly from the fish.

Cooking Lanternfish

Raw Lanternfish and Raw Lanternfish Slice can be cooked in a Furnace, Smoker, or on a Campfire. Smelting produces Cooked Lanternfish. Smoking produces Cooked Lanternfish faster. Campfire cooking also works for a slower method. Cooked Lanternfish Slice is the sliced cooked form.

Lanternfish Roll

Combine Cooked Lanternfish or Cooked Lanternfish Slice with other ingredients at a crafting table to make a Lanternfish Roll. This is a prepared food item that restores more hunger than plain cooked fish.

Cave Chum Bucket

The Cave Chum Bucket is a bucket item used for fishing or attracting aquatic mobs. Use it in caves or water to draw in Lanternfish and other creatures. Pair it with a Bucket of Lanternfish for a full fishing setup.
