Understanding Sulfur Cave Generation and Features
Biome Distribution
Sulfur Caves spawn as subterranean biomes beneath the Overworld surface, generating at various depths within cavern systems. They don't replace surface biomes but instead create underground pockets and networks. The biome generates naturally during world creation, so existing worlds may need to explore ungenerated chunks to find new Sulfur Caves.
Natural Formations
The mod creates several distinctive features: pointed sulfur spikes grow both upward from floors and downward from ceilings, creating hazardous but visually striking passages. Natural sulfur springs emerge from cave walls, flowing like water features. Waterlogged pools and flooded sections form naturally, mixing water with sulfur and cinnabar stone layers.
Audio and Atmosphere
Custom sound effects enhance immersion—block interactions produce unique audio when mined or placed, and ambient cave sounds fill the cavern environment. These audio cues help establish the Sulfur Caves as a distinct biome with its own identity. The combination of yellow and red stone, natural water features, and custom sounds creates a cohesive underground experience that feels separate from regular cave systems.
