Finding and Exploring Sulfur Caves
Locating Cave Entrances
Sulfur Caves generate deep underground in the Overworld, but you can spot them faster by looking for rare surface entrances. These appear naturally along mountain terrain as openings in the rock face. Search mountainous biomes at various elevations—entrances are uncommon but visible once you know what to look for.
Descending into the Biome
Once you find an entrance or dig down to the appropriate depth, you'll enter cavern systems filled with bright yellow sulfur blocks and deep red cinnabar stone. The caves feature natural pools, sulfur springs, and pointed sulfur spikes jutting from floors and ceilings. Bring a pickaxe to harvest blocks and watch your footing around spike formations—they can be hazardous in tight passages.
Navigating Flooded Sections
Many sulfur caverns contain water-filled areas and submerged pools. These underwater sections still generate sulfur and cinnabar, so bring a water breathing potion or helmet if you plan to mine beneath the surface. The custom ambient sounds and block interactions will help orient you in the darkness—use torches or lanterns to light your way safely through the cavern network.
